That’s why we created an affordable, planet-friendly way for book lovers to discover, enjoy, and pass along the stories they love. How It Works It’s simple: we give books a second chance. Through our buyback program and partnerships with charities, we rescue books that might otherwise go to waste. Then, we find them new readers—creating less waste, more reuse, and a whole lot of happy bookworms. Our Story World of Books began in 2002, when a few book-loving friends spotted a bag of books headed for a landfill. They saved them on the spot, and that simple act grew into a mission: to keep books in circulation, out of bins, and in the hands of readers everywhere. We’re also officially carbon neutral, and we’re working toward net-zero emissions by 2050.
